Opinions on Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

Another year, another Call of Duty game. If you're a fan of the franchise or even if you're not, this time of the year in the gaming sphere is dominated by Call of Duty. This year is no different with the release of Cold War , Treyarch's Black Ops fifth installment. Here's my thoughts on what the game is like and how it's and my thoughts have changed since the Beta. CAMPAIGN MODE Set within the Cold War era, which you probably guessed, the campaign mode follows you as your team tries to find and capture mysterious enigma, Perseus. This year's campaign had a couple of different additions however, with the inclusion of a couple little side missions, which also includes the completion of puzzles basically. As you play the main storyline, you can find various evidence which will come in handy for when you attempt to complete said side missions. They give you information in order to crack encrypted floppy disk and unravel a deep seeded soviet undercover ring. What I ...

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time - Review

Hello, hello! It's the start of another week, which means it's time to get another blog post out there for all you readers! Today, I thought I'd give just a quick, to-the-point review on the new Crash Bandicoot installment, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time . I have played a lot of different platformers in my time, including the original and remastered versions of the Crash Bandicoot games and this one probably frustrates me the most. Don't get me wrong, the game itself is fantastic, with the inclusions of new masks which give you new powers, but I find myself rage quitting this game more than any other game in recent memory. The new powers are a great new addition to the game, being able to change different dimensions, use dark matter power, be able to slow down time and flip gravity, it allows for challenging new situations that can take some time getting used to. And while these new powers can be annoying at first, once you get used to them they can become quite...

Should You Buy the New iPhones?

Well, it's that time of the year again! The new iPhones have been announced and now its up to us to decide if we want to get them, if it's worth upgrading our phones for. Well, I'm here to give you a helping hand in order to figure out that such case. You're probably wondering what a simple blogger could have to say about this, but I have a solid base behind technology. For years I lived and breathed the latest advancements of mobile phones, from fixing them for a living to selling them, they were my favourite hobby, so I feel like I have a good pool of knowledge to share. So let's get to it! This year Apple have announced four new iPhones; the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 mini, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Max. To save you time, the iPhone 12 and 12 mini are the exact same phone except for, obviously, the size. So all of the information you will see about the iPhone 12 will be the same case for the mini. So lets get to it! What's New? 5G Alright, Apple have ...

Call of Duty Cold War Beta Review

Hello, hello! Back again at the start of another week. I hope you had a good weekend and that you got some, probably much needed rest. For me, I got the chance to play the early access beta for the new Call of Duty Game: Cold War. Here are my thoughts on it!  GAMEPLAY The overall feel of the game play is good. It is head and shoulders above the current instalment of Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare. Where Modern Warfare tries to focus on making their game more realistic, it misses the mark by a lot. You're an immortal, elite soldier who has the ability to wield any kind of weapon available, yet can't jump over a wall if it's more than 4 feet tall. And don't even get me started on going prone. In Cold War  this isn't a problem. Treyarch, the developers of Cold War , understand that this is just a video game, so being able to mantle over a wall shouldn't have to be a mission every time you want to attempt it. Running around in Cold War  feels a lot better as...

The Seven Deadly Sins Review

Hello, hello! I hope everyone is having a good day! Today, I thought we could go back into the review world, so lets get started! Anime is one of these weird and crazy kind of thing that divides people. You either love it or hate it. For me, I love it. A lot of my childhood tv shows were anime, without me even knowing they were. Who could forget those mornings or afternoon viewings of Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade. I think from there, a lot of western kids sort of stopped watching it once we got a bit older, but we always remembered them. For me but, my love for anime came back when Dragon Ball Super came out. It had been 19 years since Dragon Ball Z ended, so for it to start up again stirred my love for anime and I have been actively watching it again ever since. Since 2015, I have watched numerous anime series, some only 12 episodes long and others that were 80 episodes long. I have recently started to watch One Piece  which is over 900 episodes long, so I have a little wa...

Professional Gamers - What Are They and What Is It?

Hello, hello! Welcome to hump day and September! I can’t believe that we’ve already reached September but at the same time, the back half the year could not come quick enough! Today, I thought we would talk about something that I think a lot of people have been watching these last 7 months; that ever growing profession of streamers/content creators/Esports. Now, I am not either of these professions, but I have spent the last 10 years of my life watching them, so I like to think that I know a little bit about it, at least from an outsider’s view. So, I am going to give my take on them and hopefully give a bit of an explanation for the people who don’t fully understand what they are. Youtube.com has been around for a long time now. While funny cat videos are still aplenty, it’s made a new category as it’s forefront, revolving around videogames and content creators. People playing videogames and posting them online has quickly taken over the internet in the last few years and continues ...

Review - The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss

Hello, hello! TGIF, am I right? Hopefully you get a couple days off now or at least, some time off soon! For now, but the grind continues here and today I thought I would do a quick review on a book series that had a big impact on my style of writing. So, without further ado, let's get to it! Since I was young, fantasy novels have always found their way into my bookshelf. I think everyone my age, had either the Deltora Quest or Ranger's Apprentice books when they were kids. Of course, there was also the classic Eragon series as we got older, which helped us branch into the timeless masterpiece of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series. An all-time favourite of mine (and will be forever) are the Skulduggery Pleasant series, spanning across 13 books with two more to come. But all of these books, despite how amazing they are, aren't the ones I am going to talk about today. Today, I am going to talk about the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. Currently, ther...

My First Month as a Full Time Writer

Hello, hello! I hope everyone is doing well today and have been during these trying times! This week marks my first month of writing full time, so today I thought I'd talk about how I have found this first month! This first month of writing has been a bit of a roller coaster for me. Starting up high and come plummeting down only to go back up again in some kind of twisted loop (why do people like those death traps?). I knew going into this lifestyle that it wouldn’t be all peaches and roses and that it would take extreme dedication in order to get where I want to be. But in these early days, I have found issues that I didn’t think would either exist or affect me as much as they did. The main problem that I find myself having is the lack of ideas on what to write about, especially when it comes to these blog posts. After having wanted to do something like this for a long time, I thought I would have endless ideas on things to talk about, but that isn’t always the case. I originall...

My Experience with the ANZAC's

Hello, hello! Today I thought thought I could share with all of you my experiences with the ANZAC's. For readers outside of Australia and New Zealand, ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps which operated in the First World War or the Great War. In 2012, I was extremely fortunate enough to be selected as part of the Lest We Forget  project and Footsteps of Honour  tour, which was a two week overseas trip in order to commemorate Australian soldiers who had died in battle during the War. The group, which consisted of 30 other peers, was a project created and maintained by Michael Goodwin, a History teacher of Mackay North State High School. Goodwin created the project in 1999 and took select students to Turkey, Belgium, France and Singapore to commemorate those soldiers. At the time of writing, he has continued to do so for many years, the latest tour which is now being set for a 2021 departure. Goodwin has naturally been awarded the very deserving Order of Austr...

My Take of Ghost of Tsushima

Ah video games. They've been a staple in most peoples lives, one way or another and it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon, with the upcoming releases of the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. But for today, we're going to talk about a new game that came out last month that I have been absolutely loving, Ghost of Tsushima.  Made by gaming development company Sucker Punch Productions, it is an open world game based around main character Jin Sakai, a samurai on Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. As you progress through the story, Jin has to decided whether or not to hang on to his proud Samurai traditions or resort to something more extreme in order to save his island. Lets break the game down! Storyline The storyline that Sucker Punch have come up with is nothing short than amazing. Being a Samurai in the time where there was't many left, gives a sense of duty to the player as they run around the island helping out different ci...
